What is sin?

Sin is any voluntary transgression of the divine law.
It’s a violation of God’s direct command.
It as a transgression relates to wickedness and iniquity.
Neglecting what God told you to do is a sin.

Neglecting can be in many forms like not reading the Bible, praying, attending church, ministering etc.
A baby is innocent; if you didn’t do anything wrong, you are still wicked.

Sin is an act but it’s also a state of being. There is well-being, which is well with God, and Ill-being.
We are all born from a fallen human nature, ever since Adam and Eve sinned.
All humans inherit sin becoming sinful by nature. If you think this is unfair or undeserved, seek Christ for your salvation. If you do not desire to become pure, then this is a direct violation of God’s command and you’ve sinned.
The current state of human nature is a void of righteousness. It’s way too simple to sin since it’s easy to get lost in a moment.

So what is the origin of sin?
Sin started when pride took root in the heart of Lucifer. Yet we blame ourselves for sin for acting and neglecting what God told us not to do.

Lucifer can’t blame anyone apart from himself. Lucifer in the garden (tempted) Eve, who contemplated in her heart causing ill-being to manifest disobedience with action to commit sin. When sin hurts you (sin-toms) come out which can cause stress. Eve did not respond to Lucifer (faithfully) to God. Lucifer then (lied) to Eve who accepted wrong information instead of the Word of God.

Sin reveals itself when we overstep God’s law and transgress. Iniquity can follow when we do something inherently bad or forbidden. Going the wrong way is just a departure from right or failing to meet the divine standard.

Trespass is the intrusion of self-will in God’s authority.
Many Pastors can teach something wrong, which is their self-will in God’s authority, to others so they believe something wrong which is sinful.

How can a wife submit to her husband if his testimony to her is not that good?
If you are lawless this breeds anarchy. Pastor’s not teaching things in the Bible is sinful. There are spiritual standards that have to be met. A failure in your duty to God produces a debt that must be paid. Failure to believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the only way to salvation is a sin against Christ.

If you are truly a good person why would you not receive Christ?
If you deny the cross and the resurrection this is a sin.

There are ten simple rules modelled on the Ten Commandments. When the Ten Commandments were taken out of schools this is a transgression of divine law.

There is an A-Z of sins link provided in the video description. https://prayerineverycity.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/sin-list-from-a-z3.pdf

Sin cannot be hidden, it will always find you out. Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

The Bible declares that God will one day judge the secrets of every heart. He will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. The sinner will always be found out. Just because you committed the act doesn’t mean you won’t be exposed. The penalty for sin is death, that’s why everybody dies.

God surely does not desire humans living to 900 years like some people in the past producing more and more sinners. The age limit was reduced for a reason so we can repent and turn to Christ for salvation.

We consist of body, soul and spirit.

When we die physically we go to the grave. The body goes back to the dust it was created from in a cursed ground.
The cursed ground is an appropriate place for the bodies of sin.

The spirit is dead while people walk on the earth when not born-again of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual salvation makes us alive.

The second death is the soul which is eternal, if you don’t accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

Sin affects everyone:

1 John 5:17
“All (unrighteousness) is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.”

Romans 14:23
“And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of (faith) is sin.”

Romans 3:23
“For (all) have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

1 John 1:10
“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a (liar), and his word is not in us.”

James 2:10
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is (guilty) of all.”

Romans 3:12
“They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

Galatians 3:22
“But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.”

So what is the remedy for sin?

The blood of Jesus washes away sin. That’s what saved our soul so we can go sinless into heaven. Each daily sin can be washed away with repentance and the blood of Jesus Christ:

Ephesians 1:7
“In whom we have redemption through his (blood), the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

God is rich to forgive as much as you are rich to sin.
