Why would a good God create Hell?
Poem
In realms of faith, where questions thrive,
A query often’ arises, seeking to contrive,
Why would a benevolent God, so divine,
Craft a place of torment, where souls repine?
To ponder this quandary, let us explore,
The depths of scripture, its wisdom to adore,
For in sacred texts, the answers may lie,
Unveiling the truth, as the verses imply.
In tales of old, the Bible’s sacred prose,
Hell’s origins are revealed, as the story goes,
A place not designed for His children to dwell,
But fashioned for the fallen, who chose to rebel.
In Eden’s garden, harmony once prevailed,
Till sin’s temptation, the bond had derailed,
Man’s disobedience, a choice so profound,
Unleashed a darkness, where suffering was found.
Yet God, in His mercy, devised a grand plan,
To rescue His creation, fallen by human hand,
He sent His Son, a sacrifice so pure,
To offer redemption, a path to endure.
For those who believe, in repentance and grace,
Salvation awaits in God’s eternal embrace,
But for those who reject, His love and His might,
Hell’s sombre fires shall mark their endless night.
Thus, Hell’s existence, a product of choice,
A consequence for those who silence their voice,
For God, in His love, grants freedom to all,
To follow His light or choose to fall.
To sceptics and atheists, I offer this plea,
Consider the scriptures, seek wisdom, and see,
That Hell is not a whim of a cruel divine,
But a consequence, a fate that we define.
For God’s intention, since time’s very start,
Was not to create Hell, but to mend the broken heart,
He offers salvation, a gift so profound,
To turn from darkness, in His grace to be found.
So let not Hell’s existence deter your quest,
To seek the divine, and put doubts to rest,
For God’s love and mercy, resplendent and vast,
Extend to all, till the final days are past.
