Ezekiel 23:20 Lust, Donkeys and Emission
Poem

In the realm of ancient scripture’s art,
Where wisdom’s threads are carefully charted,
A verse from Ezekiel comes to the fore,
It is a tale of caution, imagery, and more.

“There she lusted after her lovers,” it reads,
With words that stir desires and lead,
Metaphors weaved, passions aflame,
It is a potent tale with a profound aim.

“Whose genitals were like those of donkeys,” it claims,
An allegory, not just baseless names,
Symbolic of desires that led astray,
From faith’s embrace, where souls should stay.

“And whose emission was like that of horses,” it states,
An image vivid, where desire equates,
A warning against idolatrous ways,
That draws believers into passion’s maze.

But let us take heed, not to wield as a sword,
Against those who question, sceptic or lord,
For atheists and sceptics may seek,
To challenge beliefs, explore and critique.

In Ezekiel’s verse, a message we find,
Of straying from faith, of the human mind,
Yet in the realm of disbelief and thought,
Let empathy and understanding be sought.

Skepticism can inspire the quest,
To seek truth, reason, and wisdom’s behest,
It questions, examines, with curious eyes,
To unravel the mysteries that purportedly lie.

And atheists, too, hold their lack of belief,
Not out of disdain or a heart full of grief,
But to find meaning in this earthly domain,
Without reliance on faith’s holy terrain.

So let us embrace diversity’s grace,
In dialogue, enlightenment we chase,
Through words of empathy, compassion’s embrace,
We bridge divides and find a common space.

For in the tapestry of faith and disbelief,
Love and acceptance must be the motif,
In the vast cosmic expanse, we traverse,
May unity and understanding truthfully immerse.

Now, as we ponder Ezekiel’s verse profound,
Let’s extend our poetic journey’s ground,
For the echoes of ancient wisdom’s voice,
Can guide us towards a more harmonious choice.

In the realm of faith, where hearts intertwine,
Doubts emerge from a searching mind,
Let us respect each other’s sacred quest,
And in our differences, find our truest zest.

For it’s through dialogue and open hearts,
That understanding flourishes and imparts,
In the pursuit of truth, we rise above,
And create a world where compassion is enough.

So, as the verse from Ezekiel remains,
Let us reflect upon its symbolic strains,
And in this poem, may we strive to unite,
In a symphony of voices, love’s eternal light.
