What does it mean that Jesus is the Son of Man?
All chosen sons of a man born of God’s seed are the son’s of God.
1 John 3:9-10
“Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”
Romans 8:11
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Those that are of free will (gentiles) become grafted in (adopted) into the vine or the tree of Israel. Not all Israel is of Israel. There are many son’s of God that crucify their carnal flesh upon their own cross.
The mystery of Jesus Christ is like finding the treasure in a chest at the end of a rainbow.
Israel the chosen blessed nation, plus the chosen by faith through Grace, are the sons of God. The chosen plus the strangers living in the nation are adopted son’s and daughters all receiving the firstborn blessing. The son of man also refers to the prophecy of the coming Messiah.
The son of man plus the seed of Adam will crush the serpents head. After Adam’s fall, God shared the seeds of a plan He had already worked out before time began. “He shall bruise your head,” indicates that a male member of the human race will deliver a fatal and final blow to the serpent. This crushing blow will not come, however, without the woman’s seed also receiving a wound, although not a final one, on His heel. First, the Messiah will be of a unique birth. He will be the seed of the woman, not the seed of man, hence He was the one and only begotten Son of God.
The baby Jesus was not given life by earthy human seed, but by the power of the Holy Spirit. So a child took on human flesh only, this is what distinguished the difference between heaven and humanity.
He came as a Son of man (humanity) but held (divinity) within a human body. The Holy Spirit gave life not the human seed, which was corrupted by sin. Mary was just the vessel to produce the baby who would go on to be the Messiah, who would defeat the prince of the power of the air (Satan) on the cross. Over eighty times in the gospels the son of man is used. Jesus refers to himself as the son of man, as the true representation of what a human being should have been made in the image and likeness of God. Humanity should never have lost the connection with God, therefore, becoming sinners, hence Christ was sinless:
Daniel 7:13-14
“I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the (Son of Man), Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.”
In the first century, this passage was universally understood as the coming Messiah. This is the most potent Messianic prophecy in all of scripture. This predicts the Messiah would be crowned in the heavenly kingdom and come to earth to rule. It would be (one like) the Son of Man, displaying humanity but was far more.
The Son of Man will come in glory in the clouds which is a reference from Daniel. Many Jewish people could not understand why Yahshua would associate Himself with a lowly human being. Yahshua’s Jewish claim to be the fulfilment of Daniels prophecy was not recognised by them.
But the powers of His claims becomes both obvious and striking, as a heavenly title with the power of the redemptive mission. Humanity, coming glory, Judge and Saviour were bold claims, that many listened in awe, but the Jews closed their ears and shut their eyes in anger at His potent words.
